For the July meeting (Thursday, July 3rd, 7:30 pm) At the
Park
District on Higgins Road in Room 107;
July 3rd meeting will be just a general meeting. We will discuss the upcoming Art Exhibition at Prairie Center for The Arts and answer any questions you may have. Please bring art you have been working on for view or critique. Please bring any plein air work for show or critique.
If you one of the artists working on the Crab Tree project, please bring your photo references for the painting you are going to create so we can be sure there are no site duplications. We will talk a little about this project as well.
Re: the Prairie Center show:
- Here is what I am proposing for the Prairie
Center show's timeframe. This has been cleared with Prairie Center
Show Installation: Sat. August 2 (art drop off 10-10:30, installation 10-2:00 by installation - Gloria, Maria, Sharron, Maarten, Bill)
Show Reception: Sat. August 9th from 1-3 pm (set up starts 12:00 noon)
Show take-down; Wed. Sept. 3rd (all day from 8 am-evening) Each artist is responsible for his own art pick up.
Lots of nice exposure during this time, there are shows and the Village Labor Day events.

In lieu of the June meeting (Thursday, June
5th, )
The meeting has been changed to a Plein Air painting session.
We will meet:
- Sunday, June 8th around 10AM at Weathersfield Lake. This is the pond next to Schaumburg High
School. (Schaumburg & Salem Rds. Less than 1 mile W
of Roselle.) It has the pond, a gazebo, a formal garden and paddle boats.

- Lee Radtke will be giving a lecture on Plein Aire painting just in
time to inspire you for the warm summer months! You may also bring
work for critique at the end.

| Art Excursions will present a slide program on the
Art Institute’s special exhibit featuring the works of Edward
Hopper. |

For the March meeting (Thursday, March 6th, 7:30 pm) we will be
doing 3 things: Exchanging Art Cards, Discussing our ideas and sketches
for the mural, and doing peer critiques.
Please bring the following:
1) Your hand made art card on 2 1/2" x 3
1/2" paper (any medium)
2) If you are on the Mural team, bring your
sketches/paintings/ideas ready to discuss
3) 1-3 painting you would like peer critique on
(time will determine how many you get to show)
Maria will have a final count for the Art Institute so we can finalize
our plans if we are able to go as a group. That
would mean we have a total of 15 people interested.

On Wednesday, Feb 27th, at 7:30, the Schaumburg library, will have Jeff
Mishur giving a slide presentation of Winslow Homer's paintings. (the
color of light)

BILL LIMBAUGH will be
exhibiting a 30"x 24" piece of his work in the juried
photography show at the Bloomingdale Park District Museum, January 19 -
February 23, 2008. Complimentary reception: Friday, January 25,
6:00 - 8:00 pm.
January
3rd, 7:30 meeting: We will be meeting at the SCHAUMBURG PUBLIC LIBRARY
in the Rasmussan North room, 2nd floor. Please bring a landscape you have done (if you have one). We will have
a discussion on painting landscapes and will view an instructional
video on landscape painting.
